Howard Dodson

Howard Dodson is Chief of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture of the New York Public Library. A specialist in African- American history and a noted lecturer, educator, and consultant, he has taught extensively around the country, at institutions including Emory University, Shaw University, and Columbia University. He is a former consultant in the Office of the Chairman of the NEH, served as the executive director of the Institute of the Black World, and worked in the Peace Corps. He has also been a consultant for the Congressional Black Caucus, Atlanta University; the Library of Congress; and the U.S. Department of Education.
