Jim Ray Daniels

Jim Ray Daniels is the Thomas Stockman Baker Professor of English at Carnegie Mellon University. He has published numerous collections of short stories. Daniels won the Best Regional Fiction Gold Medal in the 2008 Independent Publisher Book Awards; the William H. and Frances S. Ryan Award for Meritorious Teaching from Carnegie Mellon; the Elliott Dunlap Smith Award; the 2003 FOREWORD magazine Gold Medal award for Short Story Fiction for Detroit Tales; a Pushcart Prize in 2000; the Brittingham Poetry Prize; and a National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellowship.
