Northeast African Studies, the leading scholarly journal on Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, and Djibouti, is published three times a year. The journal's founding editor, Harold G. Marcus, had a vision: to publish widely across disciplines and thus to present a panoramic and interrogative view of the political and cultural landscapes of the Horn of Africa. This vision continues under the guidance of a transitional editorial team, comprised of the following distinguished scholars: David Wiley, Michigan State University; Timothy Carmichael, College of Charleston; Ezekiel Gebissa, Kettering University; Grover Hudson, Michigan State University; James McCann, Boston University; and Jay Spaulding, Kean University.
The journal emphasizes this wide-ranging perspective by embracing variety in its subject matter and by assembling an extensive collection of international contributors. Through its stimulating approach, Northeast African Studies offers the reader both a detailed focus on specialized fields and a broader perspective. Those who subscribe enjoy the opportunity to gain far-reaching insights and a thorough understanding of the region.
