"Discovering the Peoples of Michigan" reveals the unique contributions that different and often unrecognized communities have made to Michigan's historical and social identity. The series editors are Arthur W. Helweg and Russell M. Magnaghi. Arthur Helwig is Professor of Anthropology at Western Michigan University and author of Asian Indians in Michigan. Russell M. Magnaghi teaches history at Northern Michigan University and is the University Historian. In 2005, he was awarded the Charles Follo History Award at the 56th Annual Upper Peninsula History Conference. He is the author of Italians in Michigan.
