ProQuest / Schomburg Studies on the Black Experience Series

    Michigan State University Press, ProQuest, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, and The New York Public Library are pleased to present a unique research, study and teaching resource for professors and students of black studies, the Schomburg Studies on the Black Experience (SSBE). As part of this collaboration, Michigan State University Press offers the book series format, which works as a teaching tool with or independenly of the database.

    Schomburg Studies on the Black Experience is the product of a partnership between ProQuest and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, one of the four research libraries of the New York Public Library. It provides utterly unique primary and original content, plus background materials that put these primary sources in their proper setting:
    - Cross-disciplinary Black Studies overviews by leading scholars;
    - Primary and secondary sources—articles, book chapters, dissertations, grey literature, and more;
    - Reference materials: glossary, bibliographies, multi-thematic timelines, weblinks, and more;
    - A complete multimedia library that is captioned and searchable.
